Becoming A Mentor

Becoming A Mentee

HEMI is always recruiting community volunteers to become mentors!

Perspective mentors first meet with a member of our staff for both an interview and to obtain more information about what it is like to be a HEMI mentor.  If this program is a good fit, new mentors are paired with one of our high school mentees. Each month there  is a HEMI Meet-Up for both you and your mentee to attend together. These events give our mentors the tools to be a better mentor and network with other mentors in our program.

Mentors are asked to engage with their mentee at least once a week to encourage and support smart academic and life choices.

HEMI mentors agree to be there to support their mentee through high school graduation and into either a higher education program or a career training program.  These meaningful, long-term relationships are the key to our success!

Are you a foster youth in Hamilton County's care? Do you want someone to be your champion and help you graduate from high school and go on to college or pursue career training?

HEMI could be the program for you!

Mentees engage with their mentors at least once a week and attend monthly Meet-Ups to meet other HEMI youth and learn valuable skills for success.

HEMI even provides some of our young adults with scholarships to help you pursue your dreams!

If you are determined to show the world who you are and what you can do, send us an email today!

HEMI is always looking for individuals, organizations, and businesses who can support our program in other ways too! Email us at HEMImentors@uc.edu to see how you, or your organization can get involved.
