Youth Advisory Board

of Hamilton County

The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) of Hamilton County is a group of foster youth working for foster youth.

The Board serves as the knowledgable voice that influences policies and practices that address the needs of young people in the county's care.

YAB meets to discuss the issues affecting the member's lives and the lives of others in the Hamilton County foster care system, and proposes solutions to bring about positive change. As representatives of all Hamilton County's foster youth, Board members are community leaders who take the initiative to influence constitutional and government policies regarding the foster care system, and serve the needs of others by undertaking service projects. Board members from Hamilton County also attend statewide OHIO YAB conferences several times a year to share the YAB's progress and continued frustrations in a supportive environment.

If you are between the ages of 14 and 24, have experienced foster care, and want to make a difference, vist our Facebook page and contact Orville McDonald at orville.mcdonald@uc.edu
